In order to recontextualize the interface design, we must first understand its logic. For that purpose, a series of websites' front pages is being analysed, considering both the design and the content. The selected websites (Flickr, Odeo and YouTube) belong to the category of Web 2.0 which renders, with its highly interconnected and harmonized content and form, an excellent example. This first phase of a diagrammatic design method results in a conventional diagram, a visual tool conveying as much information about the analysed websites as possible in a very compressed form. It is still a representational tool, but it sets the perfect ground for the further study of the relations between the two essential aspect of web design.
